Over 200 miles of trails, from the desert floor to the top of Emory Peak (7,825 ft). Chisos Basin and the Window Trail are our favorite half-days.
Santa Elena Canyon
1,500-foot canyon walls right on the Rio Grande. Book a kayak trip with any of the local outfitters — we're happy to recommend one.
Rio Grande Hot Springs
Stone-lined natural pools right at the river's edge inside the park. Go at sunrise — you'll likely have them to yourself.

Historic mercury-mining ruins, a legendary porch scene at the Trading Company, and one of the great sunset spots in West Texas.
